Healthy Marketing: Why Systems Beat Thrashing Harder

By Adam Franklin22 April 20253 min read

When I moved to Bokarina, I committed to a few core habits to get healthier. Nothing dramatic. Just simple and repeatable.

The three habits, and the system behind each

  1. 10,000 steps a day.System: a pedometer app tracks the steps.
  2. Weights twice a week.System: the gym class is booked in an app and in my calendar.
  3. Consume less than I burn.System: ChatGPT is my nutritionist for calories and macros.

That is it. No fad diets or hero workouts. Just things I could keep doing easily.

And it is working. Slow, steady transformation. I am lighter, stronger, and feel a lot better.

Why two years of hard work did nothing

Before this I was thrashing out six gym sessions a week with no obvious progress. Even after two years.

Why? Because I had no system.

At best I had one leg of the stool, the gym. Without the other two, steps and food, the whole thing wobbled and fell over.

The good news is that the easy way turns out to be the sustainable one.

The same thing is true of marketing

It is no surprise that the same simple approach works for marketing. I have thrashed hard in business too, and the easy way has proven far more effective.

For me and my clients, that looks like three things:

The assets are the systems that do the heavy lifting: Digital Me, Virtual Me and AI Me.

It is not about doing more, just doing the right things consistently. Not about overnight results, but a sustainable shift. And definitely not about motivation. Just systems.

You do not need to thrash harder

You need a rhythm you can keep.

If your marketing feels bloated, overwhelming or underpowered, try the same three pillars. Daily activity. Post twice a week. Publish more than you consume.

Over time that rhythm builds momentum, and the momentum is what makes you hard to stop.
